During our many adventures we stumbled upon a beautiful Wooden Prosthetic Leg, a true testament to the growing healthcare industry in the late 19th Century.
Our leg here has some truly astonishing details including a leather thigh sleeve with a worn deep red color and cream stitching. Beautiful dark grained wood makes up the calf and the heel of the foot. There are metal supports along each joint and metal joints that all still move.
You can see minor rusting on some of the metal attachments. There is also some wear and tare along the heel of the leg.
