In 1951, Schieffelin & Co. introduced the lovable and loyal St. Bernard into their advertising campaign for Hennessy Cognac, launching a memorable wave of charming prints and promotional materials. This iconic “Hennessy Dog” quickly became a beloved symbol of the brand’s warmth and tradition.
Originally, this promotional piece came with a base, designed to sit proudly on countertops or display tables. While our St. Bernard no longer has his base, he still stands tall, barrel of Hennessy around his neck and full of vintage charm. This delightful piece was discovered during Mike’s travels through Ohio and Michigan and remains a standout example of mid-century marketing nostalgia.
