American soldier doll also known as Dough Boy, manufactured by the Ideal Novelty & Toy Co., Brooklyn, N.Y. circa 1917 made of composition. He was made to celebrate Ideal’s tenth anniversary of doll making as well as to honor our American Soldiers. What a great piece of history to add to your toy or doll collection. His handsome face is flesh-tinted with boyish features, blue eyes with his flesh-tinted hands, and his blond molded hair is side-parted. He wears a very detailed, molded on brown doughboy uniform, boots, black tie, U.S. Army lapels, belt and black buttons. He has hip and shoulder joints with a ball-jointed swivel head. Not many of these left that you can find with the felt hat. A great piece of World War 1 memorabilia.
