R.H. Chilton Co. was an authorized machine shop and engine-rebuilding enterprise based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Founded originally in 1914 as a blacksmith shop by R.H. Chilton Sr., the business transitioned across four generations into a highly lucrative regional engine-rebuilding and automotive machine hub.
Toledobilt was a prominent mid-20th-century brand of fully remanufactured automotive engines. These engines were mass-machined and distributed to local garages, auto supply companies, and car dealerships.
