Named after Shakespeare's famous, fun-loving, and heavy-drinking character Sir John Falstaff, the brand was officially born in 1903 when the Lemp Brewing Company of St. Louis, Missouri. To survive Prohibition, the brewery renamed itself the Falstaff Corporation and stayed afloat by selling "near-beer," soft drinks, and cured ham.
This menu board comes from the hight of Falstaff during the 50's and 60's when they were the third largest brewery in the USA.
