This Large feathered headdress appears to be made with turkey feathers and shows normal color fading from age. The piece was acquired along with many items from Lynn Anderson. Based on its materials and construction we believe it was most likely used for costume or prop for Western Films, not an authentic Native War Bonnet.
The box it was stored in does have "Iron Eye Cody" written in sharpie, HOWEVER there is no documentation or proof this item belonged to or was used by Iron Eye Cody.
